Valentines Day, Updates and Facebook Rant

Today is Valentines Day! Last night was kid dates night. Chase and I went to Mizu to eat Japanese Hibachi(his fav) and then we went to Walmart to get a couple of things. Shane took Ally to find a new pair of tennis shoes and then to Ally's favorite, Outback. Shane was too cute, he bought Ally a bouquet of flowers before their date.

This morning the kids had special treats waiting for them on the kitchen table. Ally got a salon chair for her dolls and Chase got a Finn McMissle bath toy. For breakfast we made Luv Bugs with donut holes and I picked up Shane a Bo-Berry biscuit from Bojangles. I ended up buying 6 of them cause it was cheaper then on the way home I regretted that decision since today I'm starting my workouts again. However, when I passed the great men that pick up our trash on Tuesday mornings I knew what I was going to do. I took Shane's out and put it on a plate and took the rest of the box to the trash guys. They are truly wonderful, even when I forget to put the trash out they go all the way to the side of the house to empty our trash! The look on their faces were so great. They were so thankful and surprised. We shouted happy valentines day and they drove away with a yummy, warm Bo-Berry biscuit!

Last week we signed Ally up for Upwards Cheerleading. I know, I said, "Ally, are you sure?" She is very excited and can't wait to start in March. Chase will be going to a free week at the local karate place and is equally excited.

So, Sunday I had to stay home from church because Chase was running a fever. I was going to watch a local church that broadcasts live but their sound and video feeds were SO off it was driving me crazy. I switched over to Northpoint, Andy Stanley's church. He was staring a series called The Comparison Trap. It was so good! I took a lot of great notes like, *Are you allowing what others to keep you from enjoying what God has allowed you to manage in this life?
*Do you enjoy your kids or are you driving them crazy because of what other kids are doing? (all about performance)and *Someone will always have the -er and certainly the -est.
I don't think we do it on purpose but as young moms we can easily put ourselves into this trap. To me, Facebook and Twitter are big Comparison Traps. I feel like we(me included on purpose and not)write status' and post pictures to let other people know that we are having a GREAT life. Basically and simply God is dealing with me about what and who am I posting things FOR? Am I looking to get others approval or so that others may become jealous? I think we need to make sure our hearts and motives are pure. Which is why I have decided to get back to blogging *hopefully on a regular basis* so that I can document my life for ME and not for OTHERS.
Be Blessed,
Lisa
